Project Homekey Development Will Rehabilitate Avenue Hotel

Clifford Beers Housing is excited to announce that we have been awarded funding for a Project Homekey development from the California Department of Housing and Community Development in Los Angeles.

The project, known as Avenida, will rehabilitate the current Avenue Hotel located at the meeting point between the Koreatown and Rampart Village neighborhoods. Avenida will serve entirely chronically unhoused households in Los Angeles. When completed, Avenida will contain 76 studio units, laundry facilities, supportive service and property management offices, an update of all fire life safety, additional security system features, ADA-upgrades, and a community room.

Just a few steps away from the Vermont/Beverly Metro Red (B) Line station, Avenida will be centrally located to grocery stores, restaurants, and economic and continuing education opportunities for its future residents.

Construction is estimated to start in September 2022 with a tentative March 2023 end date, and leasing will tentatively start in January 2023. To track the progress on Homekey projects, including Avenida, visit: https://homekey.hcd.ca.gov/awards-dashboard.
