No Stopping Us Now

2020 construction progress continues despite COVID

The fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic will mean that more Angelenos find themselves at risk of being homeless. Now more than ever, we are grateful to be doing this important work. Our construction projects are moving along while staying up-to-date and responsive to the ever-changing COVID environment.

Vistas del Puerto

Vistas is getting closer to completion! We are finishing installing drywall throughout the building, stuccoing exteriors, and painting the siding. CBH is heartened that Vistas will provide 48 apartments that bring families and children into safe, healthy homes.

Metamorphosis on Foothill

Metamorphosis is approximately 70% through construction. In response to the community’s desire to beautify the neighborhood, we are working with a muralist on color and design concepts for the two Foothill-facing stair towers. If you live in the Sylmar community, feel free to reach out to us to become part of the process!

In addition, Metamorphosis will have an orchard once complete. The property will have tangerines, lemons, pomegranates, and apples for the resident’s enjoyment when the project completes later this year!

Isla Intersections and The Annenberg Paseo

Isla Intersections and The Annenberg Paseo is expected to complete in just over a year to bring a shared street and 54 new one-bedroom apartments to the Harbor Gateway intersection in South LA. Isla Intersections and the Annenberg Paseo is a finalist in the “Spaces, Places, and Cities” category of Fast Company’s #WorldChangingIdeas Awards! Thanks to Lorcan O’Herlihy Architects for another incredible partnership.

Corazon del Valle

Corazon del Valle is now 3 buildings instead of 4! The new design will reduce costs by minimizing concrete needed for a podium structure and reducing the exterior ‘skin’ of the project. We are also happy to announce the creation of a pocket park along Lanark Street. The pocket park will offer much needed green space for the neighborhood and enhance the project’s future community-serving commercial space.
